K5 Overview

August 31st - September 4th, 2026


 Memory Verse: “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23 


Unit: Eric Carle/Colors

Language Arts: We will take a look at the alphabet and review recognition and  sounds. It will be helpful to continue practicing at home. We will be learning and reviewing the letter Oo in phonics. 

Math: “Friendly Fives” - Students will learn all about the numbers to five. We will use a five frame to build and count numbers to five.

Announcements:  

  • The August/September homework menu will be in your child’s Tuesday folder.  Please complete the center “must-do” box and 2 activities per week. You will send the homework back at the end of the month. 

  • If you are picking up your child and you pull through the carline, please STAY in your car and we will bring your child to you and help get them buckled in. 

  • If you are walking up, please bring your car tag with you until we learn faces and who belongs to who.

  • Please DO NOT drop your child off in the classroom before 8:00 A.M. Early room is open if you need to drop them off before 8:00 A.M. 

  • Even if your child brings lunch on Wednesday, they may still purchase ice cream for .25 cents. We do not get ice cream on any other day. If you purchase a hot lunch, a drink and ice cream are included.  

  • Please send in a water bottle and a SNACK with your child’s name on it to school each day.

  • Hearing screenings have been completed and results have been sent home.
