Student Council
The BBS Student Council (StuCo) is made up of students from the 4th and 5th grades. The student body elects the students annually. Candidates are required to have a “B” average in all courses and exemplary behavior. Those running for student council present speeches to their class prior to secret ballot voting.
The BBS Student Council plays an important role in fostering school spirit and community involvement. Council members work together to organize and participate in a variety of projects that benefit both the school and the wider community. Some of their key initiatives include providing a warm welcome to new faculty members by giving them personalized gifts, assisting the librarian during the annual book fair, and sponsoring a booth at the school’s Fall Festival. Beyond these school-based activities, the council also raises funds for different charitable organizations and participates in local community service projects, such as the WRCB TV3 Share Your Christmas canned food drive.
Through their service, student council members develop leadership skills, learn the value of teamwork, and gain experience in planning, organizing, and executing events. They serve as role models for their peers, demonstrating responsibility, commitment, and a positive attitude. Being part of StuCo is not just about organizing events: it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others, supporting the school community, and leaving a lasting impact on BBS.
