• Brainerd Baptist School is a non-denominational Christian school. We are unapologetically Christian in everything we do and intentionally cultivate a strong Biblical worldview in our students. We believe that this can be done in a way that makes all families comfortable being a part of our school.

Our student body represents a diverse range of Christian denominations. We take a missional approach to education and strongly believe that mom and dad are the most important spiritual influences in a child’s life. Our primary goal is not only to educate students academically but also to nurture their spiritual and emotional growth.

Each day, our teachers guide students in devotion and prayer. In addition, students attend chapel weekly and participate in Bible classes twice a week.

  • Brainerd Baptist School’s elementary program is among the best in Chattanooga. Our accelerated curriculum prepares students not only for acceptance into the area’s top schools after graduation but also to thrive academically once they get there. We use research-based programs that encourage deep, critical thinking and help students transfer skills across subjects.

All students participate in a rich array of classes, including art, physical education, technology, music, library, Bible, and Spanish. In addition, students engage in STEM, coding, chess, cooking, and carpentry, ensuring that every day offers opportunities for creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.

We celebrate our graduates’ accomplishments each year, recognizing achievements in academics, athletics, and leadership. Recent alumni honors include valedictorian, salutatorian, Honor Society induction, National Merit finalist, student government leadership, all-state sports recognition, and state championships. Our curriculum and programs serve to develop well-rounded, confident students.

We also collaborate closely with several middle and high schools to ensure our students are fully prepared for the next stage of their academic journey.

  • Originally founded in 1953, before Kindergarten was available in the public school system, Brainerd Baptist School has a rich and proud history. Our programs are widely recognized for their quality and dedication to creating a nurturing, learning-focused environment. Our approach has become a model in the area for excellence in early childhood education. Since, generations of families have trusted us to provide a strong foundation for their children’s academic and spiritual growth.

Families can choose from two schedules for K2, K3, and K4: three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) or five days a week (Monday through Friday). Our K2, K3, and K4 programs are half-day programs that begin at 8:00 AM and end at 12:30 PM each day. The K5 program is Monday to Friday and also begins at 8:00 AM and dismisses at 2:45 PM daily.

  • K2 | Our K2 program is carefully designed for our youngest learners, providing a warm and nurturing environment where two-year-olds can explore, grow, and thrive. Using the Experience Curriculum, we support each child’s development through hands-on, play-based activities. Children enjoy rich learning experiences that include storytelling, drama, art, music, movement, reasoning, and language development. Through joyful play and discovery, they build confidence, form new friendships, and develop essential social skills that create a strong foundation for future learning.

K3 | Our K3 program is a literature-based curriculum that immerses children in the world of books, enhanced by hands-on activities throughout the day. Students engage in creative play, use math manipulatives and building blocks, explore art, and retell stories through interactive learning. Daily activities such as painting, coloring, cutting, and collaborative play help develop both fine and gross motor skills, while fostering a lifelong love of reading. In addition to classroom activities, children participate weekly in Music, Spanish, Bible, Library, and PE classes.

K4 | Our K4 program follows the well-known Letter People curriculum, where students focus on a different letter each week. Like the K3 program, their days are filled with hands-on, manipulative-rich learning centers that encourage exploration and creativity. In addition, K4 students begin using Saxon Math and participate weekly in Art, Physical Education, Technology, Music, Library, and Spanish classes.

K5 | Our K5 program is a traditional kindergarten program designed to prepare students for first grade. While students continue to work in learning centers, the activities are longer to support more advanced skill development. The curriculum includes Saxon Math and Saxon Phonics at the first-grade level. In addition to the fine arts classes offered in K4, K5 students also attend Bible classes and participate in our weekly chapel service.
