3rd Grade Overview

May 18-22


Important: If you have an alternate last day besides next Friday (half day, 5/22) please let us know as soon as possible so we can make sure your child's things go home with them!! 


Special Days: 

    Tuesday: Snuggle Up and Read!! Your child may bring one blanket, one pillow, and their favorite book. They may also pick a book out of our library. 

     Thursday: Board Game Day!! Your child may bring one board game that they wish to play with some of the class before the party on Thursday afternoon. All of their things will go home Thursday as well! 

This week for F&F and math we are doing different Project Based Learning Activities that integrate both math and reading. 

Spelling: There will be no spelling this week. 

Language: There will be no language this week.  

Writing (Mrs. Adams): Have the best summer!! 

Science (Ms. Richardson): Have the best summer!

Social Studies (Mrs. Mercer): We are finishing our unit on “States.” The test for our “Southern States” unit will be on Tuesday, May 19th. 

Mrs. Shoup is offering Summer Tutoring!

When: Tuesdays between 10:00-12:00 or Thursdays between 1:00-3:00, during summer library hours.

Where: BBS Learning Center

Who: Students who have completed 3rd or 4th grade (small groups or individuals).

What: Math, reading, or writing focus

NOTES: 

  • It can be cold in our classrooms. Please make sure that your child has an appropriate sweater, sweatshirt (BBS logo on the front) to wear in the classroom. ***Please make sure to label your child’s jacket/sweater/sweatshirt. 

  • Due to rotations (Science, Social Studies, and Writing) going up to 3:00, we ask that they not leave earlier than that time. Of course, we understand if there are Dr. appointments.

  • Don’t forget to send in a snack and water bottle each day. Water bottles need to be screw on tops labeled with their name.

  • Please do not take things out of their binder pockets or “return” side without returning them. We will be using those items in class on a daily basis. This also includes interactive notebooks.
