Libby Putman, Teacher Assistant

Libby and her husband, Robert, are lifelong residents of Chattanooga. As a child, Libby attended both school and church at Brainerd Baptist. When her family later moved to Harrison, Tennessee, they became members of Bayside Baptist Church—a place that sparked her love for working with children. During high school, she spent her summers serving in the church daycare, and it was then that she realized her passion for working with students.

Libby attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) for three years, majoring in Elementary Education. She plans to continue her studies in either Early Childhood Education or Family Studies.

Libby and Robert are proud parents of two daughters, Erica and Ashley, both of whom have been active in the Brainerd Baptist School (BBS) childcare program. Ashley continues to serve in aftercare and the BBS Summer Camp, while Erica is currently pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). BBS has provided a strong foundation for their academic and personal growth.

Libby’s favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31: "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
