Angel Schrader, Assistant Head of School

B.A. - Elon University

Angel grew up in Chattanooga, TN and is an alumna of Girls Preparatory School.  She pursued her passion for teaching at Elon University, earning a degree in Elementary Education.  Angel began her teaching career in North Carolina, where she taught 1st grade for 2 years.  After moving back to Chattanooga, she spent 13 years in the public school system teaching in the lower grades. Before becoming the Assistant Head of School, Angel taught kindergarten at Brainerd Baptist.  Her 20-plus years of hands-on teaching experience have provided her with a deep understanding of students’ needs, effective teaching strategies, and an understanding of the challenges teachers and students face.  Angel is excited to use these skills as she serves in the role of Assistant Head of School.

Angel and her husband Todd, have two children, Elizabeth Grace (14)  and Charlie (12).  They both began their BBS careers in K3 and are BBS graduates!  Elizabeth Grace is a freshman at GPS, and Charlie will be in 7th grade at McCallie.  When she isn’t cheering on her kids at swim meets,  Angel loves to spend time with her family, hiking, playing pickleball, riding bikes, working in the yard, and playing on the beach.  She even enjoys dabbling in small remodeling projects at home!

Angel attends Silverdale Baptist Church. Her favorite bible verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”.
