Scott was born in Connecticut, but raised on the beaches of St. Petersburg, FL. He attended Bryan College in Dayton, TN after high school. Following that, he entered the business world but shifted to the medical field. Receiving his exercise science degree from UTC, Scott worked as an exercise physiologist in cardiac rehab for over a decade. Inspired to make a difference in the arena of public education, he completed the requirements for a teaching degree from UTC where he also completed a Master’s Degree in Education and has served as an administrator and taught all levels of school in the public education system for nearly decade. Feeling it was time to move into private education, he joined BBS last school year (2021-2022). In addition, Scott has also been involved in church ministry for nearly twenty years, serving in various roles as a children’s and youth volunteer, youth pastor, and senior pastor.

Scott and his wife, Amanda, are active members of the Brainerd Baptist Downtown church plant and host a weekly multi-generational life group in their home. They have two amazing children - Conner - a graduate of The McCallie School, is a college senior attending Tennessee Wesleyan University, and Kenzie - a graduate from Girls Preparatory School, is beginning her sophomore year at Berry College.

Scott and Amanda live in East Ridge and are remodeling an older home. Scott likes to read, watch, play, and coach sports (particularly lacross), and spend time with his family and dogs.
