Rebecca Merrion, 4th & 5th Grade Teacher
B.S. – Kennesaw State University
Rebecca grew up in Fayetteville, Georgia, but has proudly called Chattanooga home since 2012. She earned her bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education from Kennesaw State University and is also certified in Early Childhood Education. Her teaching journey has included serving as a K4 assistant at Brainerd Baptist, tutoring math at McCallie for several years, teaching 6th and 7th grade math at CCSE, and, since 2022, teaching 4th and 5th grade math at BBS. This year she will also be teaching our 4th grade technology class.
Rebecca loves helping students discover that math is more than numbers—it's about problem-solving, perseverance, and building confidence. Her goal is to equip each student with the knowledge, skills, and self-assurance they need to thrive as they transition into middle school.
Rebecca and her husband, Paul, have been married since 2009 and are the proud parents of two sons, Peter and Kelly. Their family worships at Calvary Chapel, where they enjoy growing in faith and serving together. Outside the classroom, Rebecca loves spending time with family and friends, getting lost in a good spy novel, playing card games, and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.
One of Rebecca's favorite verses is Galatians 2:20:
"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Rebecca strives to live out this verse each day by pointing her students toward excellence, kindness, and the love of Jesus Christ
