Why Give to BBS?

Every year, every gift makes a difference.

Our annual fund, Building Bridges, is the most important source of revenue available to Brainerd Baptist School aside from tuition.  The funds raised provide operating monies that support the ongoing work at the school and bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost to educate a student.  A successful annual fund drive helps keep tuition as affordable as possible for students and their families.  We hope you will prayerfully consider making a donation.  Our goal is 100% participation among parents, faculty and staff. Your gift will help us remain one of the finest Christian schools in Chattanooga, TN. Questions regarding annual giving or other giving opportunities may be directed to Ellen Baggenstoss at 423-622-3873 ext. 163.

Annual Fund… what is it and why does my family need to give if we are already paying tuition? It’s a common question that we have been asked more than once; however, what you may be surprised to know is that it is also a question we once asked. So, how did our family go from not fully understanding what Annual Fund is to being the Parent Chairs who are responsible for seeking parent participation for what is now the most impactful source of financial support to Brainerd Baptist School? Although we have a son who is currently in first grade, our story goes back to 2006 when our daughter began K-3 at Brainerd Baptist School. We had been members of Brainerd Baptist Church for many years and always viewed the school as a ministry of the church, but we did not completely grasp the importance of supporting the school with our resources. It was when we enrolled our daughter and became involved in school fundraisers and service that we began to see the necessity of raising funds above and beyond tuition. Between the years of 2006-2018, we both served separate terms on the Board of Trustees for the school and held officer positions. It was during those terms of service, when we were looking at the school budget on a monthly basis, that our eyes were opened to the fact that tuition dollars only go so far. While our trustees and administration do a commendable job of assuring that tuition is used wisely, there are recurrent projects and needs that require additional support. The Annual Fund has recently enabled the school to complete projects such as updating the student restrooms and allowed for the purchase of a mini bus. Our Annual Fund also assists in providing financial aid to families who need tuition assistance through a needs based application and qualification process. We believe one of the most important investments we can make is in the education of our children, for they are our future. We also understand the reality that some are capable of giving more than others. It is critical to remember that a large gift does not make a small gift insignificant. Every gift matters. Our goal is 100% participation, no matter the size of the gift. Will you join us in supporting the 2018/2019 Annual Fund? Together, we can make a difference.
