3rd Grade Overview

April 23-26

BIBLE:  Our Bible Memory will continue with Psalm 139:4-5, “Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.” We’ll test over this one Thursday, April 25.

READING:  We will continue our unit on Compare and Contrast.

MATH: We will finish our unit on Area and Perimeter.  There will be a test over this unit on Thursday, April 25th.

Multiplication: We will review all the multiplication facts.

LANGUAGE: We will continue to learn about Adverbs. We will be talking about Adverbs that tell how and when.

WRITING: We will continue our Fairy Tale unit.

SPELLING: We will be studying Unit 32 words. The test will be on Friday, April 26.  You can log on to spelling city to practice: http://www.spellingcity.com/jkrobinson/.

SCIENCE: There will be a test over the Simple Machine unit on Wednesday, April 24th. Your child has a study guide in their binder.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We will have our test over the Northeastern Region on Wednesday, April 24.  They will need to be able to identify and label the 12 states in the Northeastern Region.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

  • AR PARTY - April 29 - Lookouts Baseball Game from 10:30-3:00

  • End of the Year Party- May 21- Chester Frost- We will have fun in the sand and play area. Lunch will be provided. 9:45-2:30 (More information coming!)

NOTES:

  • Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack each day.

  • You may want to send a sweater/school sweatshirt, as the rooms can be cold.

  • Don’t forget to sign your child’s planner every night. This lets us know that you have checked their homework.

  • Don’t forget to send in Box Tops!  Remember, 100% of the money comes back to our classroom.

  • If you have a planned vacation, please let us know at least two weeks in advance.
