Individual yearbook pictures are Thursday, September 20, and Friday, September 21. Check with your homeroom teacher to see which day your child will have their picture made. Students may wear civilian clothes for these pictures. Remember to follow the BBS Dress Code regarding short/skirt length, tank top/spaghetti straps, and shoes.
Open House is Thursday, September 20. We will begin in the Sanctuary at 6:30 p.m. followed by classroom visits.
All Bobcat Spartan Race pledges are due by Friday, September 21.
Fall Break is coming soon. We will be offering child-care on October 4, 5, and 8 from 7:30 a.m.

3rd Grade Overview
BIBLE: Verse Test #1 will be held Monday, September 17th. Our first verse test will be over our school verse of the year: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13 (ESV)
READING: We will continue our unit on Summarization.
MATH: We will continue our unit on Addition. We will be talking about adding 3 and 4 digit numbers and word problems with addition.
Multiplication: We will practice the 10’s this week. The 10’s test will be on Friday, September 28.
LANGUAGE: We will continue to learn about Nouns. We will be talking about possessive nouns.
WRITING: We will finish our Boot Camp writing this week. We will start learning about writing “How To” paragraphs.
SPELLING: We will be studying Unit 5 words. The test will be on Friday, September 21. You can log on to spelling city to practice: http://www.spellingcity.com/jkrobinson/.
SCIENCE: There will be a test over the matter unit on Tuesday, September 18.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will continue learning the 7 Continents and 4 Oceans. We now have a 5th Ocean, which is the Southern Ocean. This can be found at the base of the Atlantic Ocean.
Field Trip: Huntsville Space Center - October 26 - More information to come.
Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack each day.
You may want to send a sweater/school sweatshirt, as the rooms can be cold.
Don’t forget to sign your child’s planner every night. This lets us know that you have checked their homework.
Don’t forget to send in Box Tops! Remember, 100% of the money comes back to our classroom.
If you have a planned vacation, please let us know at least two weeks in advance.
