  • Register here for Holiday Childcare for February 14 and 15.  There will be NO child care available on February 18.

  • Students that donate $2.00 or more may wear Valentine’s dress on Wednesday, February 13.

  • We are beginning to plan for the 2019-2020 school year.  If your child is returning to Brainerd Baptist School for the 2019-2020 school year, there is nothing additional for you to do.  FACTS accounts will be billed the $200 re-enrollment fee (per child) on February 1, 2019, and will be drafted on March 1, 2019, unless you have elected the “auto pay” feature for incidentals in FACTS.

  • If you do not plan on your child returning to Brainerd Baptist School, you must submit an email to Mr. Corcoran no later than February 25, to officially withdraw.

  • To add the 2019-2020 annual lunch plan to your 2019-2020 tuition click here.

            The Annual Lunch Plan costs are:

            K3-1st grade is $525.00

            2nd-5th grade is $700.00

            10 Day Tickets are $55.00

            30 Day Tickets are $150.00          

  • US101 has donated 2 Heart Strings for Hope tickets to BBS in honor of our sweet student that is currently at St. Jude.  We are going to hold a raffle for these tickets online:  $10.00 for a chance to win 2 tickets!  The proceeds of this raffle will evenly be distributed to benefit Brainerd Baptist School and St. Jude CRH.  The winner will be announced on Thursday, February 21.  You can purchase your raffle tickets here.

3rd Grade Overview

February 4 - February 8

BIBLE: Our next Verse Test is Monday, February 11. It will cover:

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purposes.” Romans 8:28 (ESV)

READING: We will continue our unit on Character. Ask your child about the book they are reading. They are reading about some very interesting people.  

MATH: We will continue our unit on Measurement. We will be talking about telling time to the minute, elapsed time, and time intervals.

Multiplication: We will practice the 11’s this week. The test over 11’s will be on Friday, February 22.

LANGUAGE: We will continue to learn about adjectives.

WRITING: We will finish our penguin writing.

SPELLING: We will be studying Unit 23 words. The test will be on Friday, February 8.  You can log on to spelling city to practice: http://www.spellingcity.com/jkrobinson/.

SCIENCE: There will be a test over the penguin unit on Thursday, February 7. Our next unit will be on oceans.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We will start our Unit on Famous Americans.  The students will be reading a biography, that they chose in Library last week, and completing a Coke bottle project. Details will be in Tuesday folders. Projects and presentations are February 28.

NOTES:

  • Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack each day.

  • You may want to send a sweater/school sweatshirt, as the rooms can be cold.

  • Don’t forget to sign your child’s planner every night. This lets us know that you have checked their homework.

  • Don’t forget to send in Box Tops!  Remember, 100% of the money comes back to our classroom.

  • If you have a planned vacation, please let us know at least two weeks in advance.
