Sean M. Corcoran - Headmaster
Sean is beginning his fourth year at Brainerd Baptist School. He was born and raised in
Manchester,
TN. After graduating from Coffee County Central High, he worked for a large manufacturing company in
Nashville for 2 years before moving to
Chattanooga to attend college. He began working in the after school care program at
Brainerd
Baptist
School while in college. He student taught 6th grade here at BBS as well as 4th grade at Big Ridge Elementary in Hixson.
Sean began his teaching career at BBS in 1999 as a part of the middle school expansion that later became David Brainerd Christian School. During his five years at DBCS, he taught several different subjects including Math, Science, Bible and Technology. He also coached various sports including boys basketball, golf, soccer and football. Once Sean completed graduate school, he moved into school administration at DBCS overseeing the expansion of the campus that included the contruction of a gymnasium, football field and classroom expansion.
During this time Sean was also a Youth Pastor at
Piney
Grove
Baptist
Church in
Trenton ,
GA, where he served for 7 years.
In the Spring of 2005, Sean returned to Brainerd Baptist School accepting the position of Assistant Head of School. He served in that capacity until being named Headmaster in May of 2006. Sean married his high school sweetheart, Katrina and they have three children; Andrew, 9, Aaron, 8, and Abigail 5. In his free time, Sean enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball and softball and going to Knoxville to watch his beloved Tennessee Volunteers with his family.
