BRAINERD BAPTIST SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL

The BBS Student Council is made up of students from the 4thand 5th grades. The student body elects the students annually. Candidates are required to have a “B” average in all courses and two-teacher recommendations. Those running for student council present speeches to their class prior to secret ballot voting. There are five 4th grade representatives and seven 5th grade representatives. The student council chooses officers from the 5th grade representatives.

The BBS student council is very active within the community. Some projects include providing a welcome gift to new faculty, assisting the librarian during the book fair, sponsoring a booth at Fall Festival, raising money for the Make a Wish foundation, as well as participating in WRCB TV3 Share Your Christmas can food drive. Each year BBS students individually decorate a Christmas ornament to be sold to raise money for a community need.
