As we all know, parental involvement in crucial to the success of any school and Brainerd Baptist is no exception. It is with that in mind, that we asking each family to complete at least 10 service hours to the school and pay a $20 PSO (Parent Support Organization) Activity Fee this year. Service hours may be completed by any member of the student's family. Exceptions and extenuating circumstances must be approved by the Headmaster and School Board.

How many hours do I have to serve each year?
Ten hours per family
Who can do the service hours for my family?
Parents, grandparents and older siblings (when appropriate) can earn hours for your family.
Can I earn hours by working in a classroom or by taking home work like cutting things out for my child’s teacher?
Yes, you can. The needs will vary by teacher, but there are many opportunities to help in the classroom, or also help at home. Just make sure that you get the Parent Participation form signed and turned into the office.
Where can I get a copy of the Parent Participation Form to document my hours?
The office, on the PSO section of the BBS website or in your child’s classroom.
Does going on a field trip or bringing in items for a classroom party count towards my hours?
Parents in grades K3-K5 may count up to 2 field trips in their service hours. Bringing in items for a classroom party does not count towards hours.
Can I earn hours at other events other than the ones that I originally signed up for?
Yes, but just make sure that if you made a commitment to serve on a committee that you follow through with that commitment or at least let your chair person know that you are going to earn your hours on a different fundraiser or special event.
Can I serve for more than 10 hours per year?
Yes, you can.
