K5 Overview

Memory Verse: Psalm 121:1-8 Your child will be reciting these verses at graduation. Please read over these with your child daily so that they will be familiar with them.

Unit: Graduation

Language Arts: We will be working on Letterbook Z. In this book, we will be learning the sound, shape, and name of z, blending, dictating, rhyming, review of shapes, colors, and all twenty-six letters. Please remember to keep all letterbooks. They are good review for reading during the summer.

Math: We will be working on math skill sheets that will prepare us for first grade.

Research Reinforcement: Find an interesting fact about somewhere you are going to visit this summer!

Announcements:

K5 Water Day and Summer Birthday Parties will be on Tuesday, May 22^nd. Each class will have their own summer birthday celebration. Information for each class will be sent soon. Your child needs to bring his/her swimsuit, shoes that can get wet (bare feet are not allowed), and a towel. We need lots of parents to help!! This is a fun day that needs much supervision. We have found it to be safest for younger siblings not to attend. If you can help, please call your homeroom mom.
The K5 graduation program is on Wednesday, May 23^rd, at 9:00am in the Sanctuary.
We realize that everyone is very busy with ballgames and spring activities; however, please

review the word lists and homework. Don’t give up now – their skills are blossoming.

Remember to work with your child on their part for the graduation program. If you have not received this part (or have lost it), please notify your teacher.
The last day to eat in the cafeteria will be May 18^th. After that date, please send a sack lunch and drink.
Please return all readers this week. No reader will be sent home.
