BIBLE: James 1:5 - “ If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.” The verse test will be on Thursday, April 3, 2014.
READING: We are finishing our last F&F Plot books---and I feel like I’ve climbed Mount Everest!! We will have our vocabulary and skills tests this Thursday and the performance test Friday. We are also working on finding information and inferencing in class.
ENGLISH: Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, get your adverbs here!! We start adverbs later this week.
SPELLING: The children have homework menus again. Forty-five points worth of assignments are due by test day, which is Friday, March 21st!!
MATH: We will continue to review multiplication and division. This week we will begin working with decimals. We will look at tenths and hundredths.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We are traveling westward. We will finish lessons 2 and 3 of chapter 11. Students have been working on western projects in class. They will turn in their Pony Express poster and have an open book quiz on the people, places and events that we studied on Monday, March 17. We will hold our “Race to the West” wagon train race on Monday.
SPANISH: Students have begun reviewing the numbers from 1 - 100 and are learning the words for the powers of ten which they will need in order to be able to count to 1,000! A vocabulary list with the numbers from 1 - 100 is in the Tuesday folders today.
Students are strongly encouraged to use this list to practice at home. They should be able to recognize a number as a word and when spoken.
We were so proud of our fourth graders at Grandparents’ Day. They did a super job on their Tutti Frutti and Hound Dog songs! We also enjoyed meeting their grandparents. Great job on their costumes. Thank you so much for the great participation.
