Fourth Grade Overview
December 3, 2013
BIBLE: Psalm 100:1-5 - The test will be on the five verses in Psalm 100. The test date is Thursday, December 5, 2013.
READING: The Skills and Vocabulary Tests for this unit were taken today. We will have our Performance Test tomorrow. Ms. Starnes will incorporate the Fact and Opinion unit in her Science class this month.
ENGLISH: We are off and running on our Christmas Preposition unit. We’ll go over the North Pole, under the North Pole, on the North Pole, through the North Pole, etc., etc, as we study. Look for the Christmas mystery homework sheet tonight! The test for this unit will be on Wednesday, December 11th.
SPELLING: We will work on mnemonics to help us memorize some troublesome sight words as we prepare for the upcoming review test. Big Elephants Can Always Use Some Exercise!
MATH: We will continue reviewing multiplication and division. This week we will work on finding the multiples of numbers, percent, using pictures to compare fractions, rate word problems, and multiplying three-digit numbers. There will be a math assessment on Thursday, December 5.
SCIENCE: We will begin our study with chapter 7, “ Hurricanes and Tornadoes.” We will have a “mini” F&F unit on “Fact and Opinion.” Information was sent home yesterday for you to read and sign.
SPANISH: Room in a Shoebox projects are due tomorrow, Wednesday, December 4.
Thank you for all of the hard work your family put in on the Inventor’s Showcase! It was a huge success. All of our younger children can’t wait to be fourth graders and participate in this event!!
