3rd Grade Overview
Field Trip: We will be going to the Chattanooga Aquarium on January 31st. Be looking for more information after Christmas Break!
BIBLE: Psalms 23:1-2 “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.” The verse test will be on Friday, January 17, 2014.
MATH: We will be learning and practicing subtracting by 7, 8, and 9, making a reasonable prediction by collecting and analyzing data, finding the square root of perfect squares, and adding money (decimals).
LANGUAGE: We will be step away from the curriculum, and be reviewing the Parts of Speech. We have some very fun, and exciting things planned to review!
READING: We will be reading Christmas books to learn new skills. All students will be introduced to the following reading skills: context clues, important details, and illustrations.
SPELLING: There will be no spelling test until after Christmas!
SCIENCE: There will be no rotations this week due to Christmas program practice; HOWEVER, students will still be quizzed regarding the names of planets in our solar system on Thursday, December 12. They should know them in order from the Sun out: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. Spelling and Capitalization will count on this quiz.
