1st-5th Grade Summer Reading Requirements

Go to, click On Campus and Summer Camp.

  • K5 will graduate on Wednesday, May 24, at 9:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. We will livestream

our K5 graduation.

  • 5th grade will graduate on Thursday, May 25, at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. We will

livestream our 5th grade graduation.

  • Remember FACTS accounts must be current and all library books must be returned

to receive end of the year reports/grades and transcripts.

Second Grade Overview

May 22nd-25th

MATH​: Facts to know- Review addition and subtraction facts throughout the summer!

We will be learning how to locate and graph points on a graph, and we will be learning how to divide by 2.

READING​:  We will finish our unit on The Chalk Box Kid. Students will discuss the story and create their own picture of a “chalk garden.”

SPELLING/PHONICS​:  We will be doing spelling activities with sight words.

LANGUAGE/WRITING​: Students will continue learning “Troublesome Words.”

SOCIAL STUDIES: Students continue learning about current events through Scholastic News articles.


End of the Year Party! Tuesday, May 23rd - Please join us for an End of the Year Party from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Warner Park Splash and Play Area (301 N. Holtzclaw Avenue, Chattanooga).

Transportation - We need parent drivers. Please let your child’s teacher know if you can drive.  We will leave school by 11:15 a.m. and return by 3:00 p.m.

Lunch - Pizza will be provided.  We need drinks, snacks, and desserts.  Please contact Laura Bartley if you can bring something.

Dress - Boys can wear swim shorts and uniform shirt.  Girls can wear their suits under their uniform shirts and shorts (staying within dress code), or they may bring their suits to change clothing. Please make sure your child has a towel, sunscreen and dry clothes!
