Monday, April 24, we will have a Farewell Reception to honor Mrs. Stromberg, Mrs. Garmon, and Mrs. Kell. The reception will be from 3:30-5:00 in the foyer of the Childrens’ Department

Due to end of the year scheduling, there will be no Chick-fil-A orders for Friday, April 28 through the last day of school in May.

April 27 & 28 will be Spring Picture Days. Check with your homeroom teacher for which day your student’s classroom will be photographed.

Muffins for Moms is Friday, April 28. Moms are invited to join us for breakfaststarting at 7:30 a.m. until 8:10 a.m.

Summer Review Workbook – Monday, May 1, last day to order!!

Order forms for Vacation Stations review workbooks were sent home Tuesday with students in K5 through 5th. Children complete only two pages per day of math,language and reading skills through the summer months.Check out samples in both school offices.Return order form with payment ($17.25 made out to BBS) by May 1.

STUCO will be collecting coke can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House.

May 5 - Early dismissal day (11:00 K3, K4; 11:15 K5; 11:30 1st-5th)

May 19 - K3, K4 following program until 6:00 p.m.

May 22-25 - K3, K4 early room open and then to room #18 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

May 25 - K5 following graduation until 6:00 p.m.

May 26 – No Childcare

Students must sign up online.

Second Grade Overview

April 24th-28th

BIBLE: I John 4:10 - "This is love: not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."

**Test: The verse test will be on Tuesday, April 25th.

MATH​:  Facts to know: All subtraction facts 0 through 9.

We will be working on representing and writing mixed numbers, creating and reading a bar graph with a scale of 2, and practicing subtraction facts.

**Test: There will be a Written Assessment on Monday, April 24 (no studying required) and Fact Assessments will given on Tuesday, April 25th (100 subtraction facts and subtracting 9 facts).

READING​:  We will continue our F&F Plot unit. Students will be working in their SPEC logs and should study the Plot pattern statement, process questions, and skills at home.

SPELLING/PHONICS​:  We will be learning how to read and spell long multi-syllable words with more than one affix, words with the final stable syllable - ture, and sight words.

**Test: The Spelling Test (List #24) will be given on Friday, April 28th.

LANGUAGE/WRITING​: Students will complete their final copy of “The Love of Jesus for Us” paragraphs. Throughout the writing process we are working on writing complete sentences and forming a paragraph with supporting details using the grammar skills we have been working on throughout this year.  We will also begin learning about adverbs and using them in our writing.

SCIENCE: We will complete our Science unit on Rocks and Minerals. Students are learning about how rocks are formed, the different types of rocks, and all about the Rock Cycle.

**Test: A Rocks & Minerals Science Test will be given on Friday, April 28th.
