Fourth Grade Overview

April 24-28, 2017

BIBLE:  James 1:17 - "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."  The verse test will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.

READING: This week students will continue begin our last F&F unit, Drawing Conclusions. We will be reading books in class; therefore, there is no home reading for this unit. You will find study materials in the reading section of binders. Tests dates to come.

SPELLING: List 14 is located in your child’s binder along with an ACTIVITY SHEET. There is NO PICK 6 this unit. Activity Sheets are due on Wednesday, April 26. The test will be on Friday, April 28. Full benefits of using the Activity Sheet will not be realized if they are all done at the last minute. Create a better LIFE speller and student by teaching your child to study in advance. :)

***Spelling City username and password is written on the FRONT PAGE OF STUDENT AGENDAS for year-round reference.***

ENGLISH: This week we will focus on writing exercises and some poetry. We will continue practicing the concepts from our most recent English unit in our own writing, specifically adverbs.

Applied Sciences:

MATH: We have started a chapter on Customary Units of Measure.  The projected date for the test over this is Tuesday, May 2, but we will see how it goes!!

SCIENCE: We will finish chapter 5, “Systems of the Human Body.”  We will focus on the digestive and circulatory system. Students will participate in “hands-on” activities that focus on these systems.  Test over all the systems will be Friday, April 28. Information about the test will be in Tuesday’s folders.
