OUR LIBRARY
The library at Brainerd Baptist School is a great resource for our students, teachers and parents. It is the goal of our library to help foster a life-long love of reading. Our students begin going to library in K3 and start checking out books in K4. The library works very closely with the classroom teachers to help make sure our students are checking out age-appropriate books. We also use Accelerated Reader and STAR reading to help monitor our student’s reading comprehension and grade levels.

Students come to the library each week during their regular scheduled time as well as on an as needed basis. Library books are due on a student's scheduled library day. Late fees are not assessed but the fee for a lost, wet or damaged book is $20.00.
How to Login to Accelerated Reader
Students use their Clever QR code badges to login to Accelerated Reader through the Clever app for iPhone/iPad or Android/Laptop/Desktop through the Clever portal. The QR code badge replaces all previous login information to Clever
AR Goals
It is our desire to create reading goals for our students that are more individualized in their approach instead of grade level goals. Because we know that children work at different levels, it is important to have a program that continues to challenge our students the entire year, not just until their goals have been reached.

Kindergarten 2 points a month
1st Grade 5 points a month
2nd Grade 7 points a month
3rd Grade 10 points a month
4th Grade 12 points a month
5th Grade 15 points a month
Monthly Awards
Students may receive an award each month they achieve their monthly goal. On holiday months we will adjust award time and point. Please note that the award day will be the 1st Wednesday of each month. Students may wear the current AR shirt every Wednesday as part of their uniform. Students may wear previous shirts on Civilian days only.
Summer/August
The award will be a back to school treat.
The award day is Wednesday, September 6th.
September 1-30
The award will be a fall treat.
The award day is Wednesday, October 4th.
October 1-31
The award will be a trip to the treasure box.
The award day is Wednesday, November 1st.
November 1-30
The award will be a Christmas treat.
The award day is Wednesday, December 6th.
January 1-31
The award will be a homework pass. This pass is to be used per teacher’s requirements.
The award day is Wednesday, February 7th.
February 1-28
The award will be a trip to the treasure box.
The award day is Wednesday, March 6th.
March 1-31
The award will be book fair bucks.
The award day is Wednesday, April 3rd.
April 1-30
The award will be a civilian day pass. Remember BBS civilian day dress rules apply.
The award day is Wednesday, May 1st.
May - Encourage those who have not yet received an AR t-shirt. The last day to earn an AR shirt will be May 17th.
